49ers

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan admitted that the loss of RB Jerick McKinnonchanges things pretty drastically” for their offense.

“Since the day we signed him, we’ve been game planning for Minnesota,” Shanahan said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “So I’m not going to lie — it changes things pretty drastically. That was [our] first target in free agency, so once you do it, you have a plan on how to use him, especially going into Week One.”

Cardinals

Cardinals QB Sam Bradford said he has done “everything in my power” to fully recover from his torn ACL.

I’ve done everything in my power to put myself in this position. If something happens, and I get injured … and it doesn’t hold up, I’m going to hold my head high knowing that I put my body and myself in the best position to succeed,” said Bradford, via Bob McManaman.

Cardinals HC Steve Wilks said DE Markus Golden is “progressing” from his knee injury, but that he may not play in Week 1 if he is unable to practice by Thursday.

Right now, he’s progressing, as I said. We’ll see tomorrow, and I believe right now that if a guy’s not practicing by Thursday, it’s tough for him to be ready for the game,” said Wilks, via McManaman.

Lions

Lions RB Ameer Abdullah said Monday he was not concerned about mentioned in trade rumors the past few months.

“It’s not in my control, so it’s neither in front of me or behind me,” Abdullah said, via the Detroit Free Press. “You know what I’m saying? Because it was never anything I could control. That’s for people upstairs, people around to talk about. All I can do is, while I’m here, is make these people around me better, make myself better and hopefully win some games for Detroit.”
