49ers
Regarding the 49ers being the last team in the NFL without permittance to team facilities, HC Kyle Shanahan does not think that gives them competitive disadvantage given all players in the league are currently not allowed back.
“The players aren’t there, so you’re not getting a big advantage,” Shanahan said, via Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Nothing that (coaches) can’t do on Zoom meetings. I would feel differently if other players were allowed in the building in other places. That would be a huge disadvantage for us, but until guys can start working with players, it doesn’t bother me.”
Shanahan added that it does not bother him that the 49ers’ coaches haven’t been permitted access to team facilities due to Santa Clara, California COVID-19 standards.
“You want every advantage possible,” Shanahan said. “But our county is not there yet. And it doesn’t bother me that much because I do understand.”
