Chip Kelly

  • Jason La Canfora would be “very, very surprised” if the Falcons hired Chip Kelly to replace Kyle Shanahan as their offensive coordinator, despite a recent report that he is expected to be considered for the job.
  • Instead, La Canfora could see Kelly joining the Patriots as a consultant/assistant.

Dolphins

Ravens

  • Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun writes that this is arguably one of the most crucial offseasons in Ravens’ history, given the team’s roster needs and the players who will be free agents in the coming months.
  • Zrebiec expects former second-round pick Kamalei Correa to stay at weak-side linebacker as opposed to being used as an edge-rusher.
  • According to Zrebiec, it’s going to be costly to re-sign RT Ricky Wagner, considering that there isn’t a lot of offensive tackle depth in this year’s crop of free agents. Even so, Zrebiec can’t see the Ravens re-signing Wagner to a deal that would pay him close to $10 million per year.
  • As for potential cap casualties, Zrebiec’s list includes WR Mike Wallace, TE Dennis Pitta, TE Benjamin Watson, C Jeremy Zuttah, OLB Elvis Dumervil, S Lardarius Webb, S Kendrick Lewis, CB Kyle Arrington and CB Shareece Wright. However, he can’t see all of them being cut.

Redskins

  • The Washington Redskins announced Monday that they’ve promoted Chad Englehart to head strength and conditioning coach and hired Kavan Latham to fill Englehart’s previous role as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
