49ers
New 49ers CB Richard Sherman mentioned that he’s already picked up a tell on QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
“You just need to read him — hand off ball; he’s letting it go,” Sherman said, via Patrick Holloway of Niners Nation. “You have to be decisive when you make those decisions. If he takes his hand off the ball and doesn’t throw it, I think he’ll throw guys off, but when he takes his hand off the ball, you’ve got to be ready to break.”
Garoppolo has struggled a bit this offseason, but HC Kyle Shanahan says he likes to see him make mistakes and work through these issues.
“I like to see Jimmy make mistakes,” Kyle Shanahan previously said, via the PressDemocrat. “I like seeing him come in and work on it. I like seeing him correct what he messed up two days ago. He felt the mistake. He understood why it was wrong and then he wants to correct it himself. I want him to understand it. Sometimes when things don’t work out, you learn. You’ve got to know the whys and that’s what allows you to have continued success over time.”
Cardinals
Recently signed Cardinals DE Benson Mayowa said he has a “chip on my shoulder” after being released by the Cowboys back in March.
“Every time you go somewhere new or every time something happens you can’t control, it’s a chip on your shoulder,” Mayowa, via Darren Urban of the Cardinals’ official site. “There is always a chip on my shoulder. When you come to a new situation with new coaches, it has to be a boulder.”
Seahawks
Seahawks’ veteran C Justin Britt believes this year’s offense has the potential to be “the best offense we’ve had here in a long time.”
“We’re all heading into camp excited for our offense and what we have potential to be, and that’s the best offense we’ve had here in a long time,” said Britt, via John Boyle of the Seahawks’ official site.
